Meet Our Team

We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets!

Please call us at (519) 482-3558 to speak to one of our caring veterinary staff members.

Dr. Sophie Farrell

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Sophie has wanted to be a vet ever since she was nine years old and found out that being an animal doctor was an actual job. She started volunteering for her family vet at fourteen and has been working in veterinary practices ever since.

After graduating from vet school in 2007, Sophie left her hometown of Toronto for rural Ontario, and, after a brief detour through less cool parts of the province, she put down roots in Huron County when she joined Clinton Veterinary Services in 2009. She liked it here so much that she purchased the practice from Drs. Robin and Peter Wiley in 2011.

She lives with her husband Jon, three human kids, and (currently) five fur kids: two dogs and three cats. When she’s not at work, Sophie enjoys practicing martial arts, creative hobbies such as fibre arts and woodworking, restoring her totally-not-haunted 143-year-old farmhouse, helping Jon tend to his 100+ beehives and listening to loud, obnoxious music.

Dr. Tara Plante Frischknecht

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Tara is a graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph and has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. She’s Cat Friendly and Fear Free Certified. What Tara likes most about her job is working as part of a team to provide the best care for our patients.

Tara is originally from Rhode Island, USA and moved to Huron County in 2014 to be with her dairy farmer husband, Rolf. They have a dog named Brünsli and 2 cats named Lumi and Matouk. Tara enjoys traveling and photography and has visited over 25 countries. She loves spending time at the lake or on a hike with Brünsli or reading a book snuggled with Lumi and Matouk.

After retiring from a career in education; Elaine joined our team as a part-time receptionist. She enjoys interaction with clients and pets alike.

Personally, she and her husband care for 6 cats, 4 horses, 1 Bouvier dog and perennial gardens at their property near the Maitland River.

Taylor

Taylor has worked at Clinton Veterinary Services since February 2021 as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2020 and has held a lifelong passion for animals and animal care. From growing up on her family’s dairy farm to volunteering at the Toronto Wildlife center, Taylor has always held animals close to her heart.

Outside of the clinic Taylor enjoys playing guitar (poorly), dancing, and waiting hand and foot on her 2 cats, Ed and Greg.

When not at the clinic, Elysse enjoys crafting and caring for her dog (Dalton), cat (Momma), 2 rabbits (Peaches and Greyson) and 4 laying hens.

Jon

Madalyn has worked at Clinton Veterinary Services since November 2020 as a Veterinary Office Assistant. She has recently returned part time to the clinic after her second maternity leave so you may see her at the receptionist desk or working on our social media behind-the-scenes.
